Abstract

Salford University prides itself in the employability of its students. Salford’s Prospectus states that over two-thirds of all full-time undergraduate programmes offer the chance to work in the UK or abroad. A review of the literature on work placement suggests there are many benefits to students who undertake such placements. The aim of my project is to find out why so few students in the FAOF degree programme take a work placement, and then consider alternatives which may better suit students facing increasing financial burdens and constraints.
