Summary
A journey through the history of rock music. Heavy metal emerged in the 1960s from Birmingham with Black Sabbath as its undisputed godfathers, and went on to conquer the world. This programme explores how it all began with an industrial accident in a sheet metal factory, which changed the way one key guitarist played and with it the sound of rock. Following the highs and lows of the music, we meet its greatest artists, including Deep Purple, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, and of course, Black Sabbath.
