The project consists of the development of a new Translation Management Project for students registered on the MA/Pg Dip in Translating, MA/Pg Dip in Interpreting and Translating and the MA/Pg Dip in Chinese-English-Chinese Translating with Interpreting. This project aims to provide an experience-based learning opportunity for improved levels of application of knowledge to professional practice. It will develop student’s translating skills within a task-centred approach. The simulation exercise will be developed in consultation with professional translators and will aim to recreate a real professional scenario. For the development of this project theoretical and practical approaches will be studied and collaboration sought with lecturers from other disciplines experienced in the use of similar teaching methods to ensure transferability. In this way, the model for the development of the simulation exercise will have wider applicability beyond the discipline of Translation.
