Abstract
This article considers how compassionate mind training (an intervention that has been used within clinical populations to help individuals who report high levels of shame and self-criticism to develop compassion) may be used to help student healthcare practitioners, including counsellors, nurses and midwives, cultivate self-compassion, which may help them face the demands of clinical care.
