Abstract
UK journalism has been under attack with accusations of poor standards and malpractice, but the author argues it is the regulatory system that cannot cope with the new converged and digital reality combined with the depleted and disappearing investment into the editorial processes - the most expensive and politically inconvenient part of journalism practice that internet giants and many politicians prefer to do without.
