Abstract

This chapter discusses how the other chapters in this work may be woven into a single fabric of resilience or sustainability and then suggests a way ahead towards their achievement. It makes two main proposals, one philosophical with several suggestions, the other practical. The first is radical and the second might be provocative; they contain material that is seldom discussed. The proposals may be considered independently of each other, or they may also be linked. The first employs the little‐known multi‐aspectual philosophy of Herman Dooyeweerd. The second suggests that discourses around, and action towards, sustainability should no longer ignore the dynamics offered by religions and ideologies.
