Abstract
Japan's domestic energy resources are scarce and highly dependent on imported energy to meet domestic demand. In order to ensure the security of energy supply, Japan implements an energy strategy of diversifying oil and gas import sources and promoting the development of nuclear energy. Therefore, Central Asia, which is relatively rich in oil and gas resources and uranium resources, has become an important target of Japan's energy diplomacy. Of course, in addition to energy interests, Japan also has important geostrategic interests in Central Asia.
