I am a Research Fellow at UPRISE, a new research centre within the School for the Built Environment. I also carry out research with the Global Development Institute at the University of Manchester. I am particularly interested in working with local communities and civil society organisations to increase understanding about the ways in which community-led initiatives (and particularly urban social movements), and collaborative approaches to local governance, can contribute to reducing poverty and inequality.
