Dr Marie Griffiths is a Reader in Digital Technologies, Director for award winning Centre of Digital Business at Salford Business School, PGR Director and President of UKAIS (UK Academy in Information Systems now in it 24th year). Marie has significant practical experience gained working on varied digital ‘live’ research projects, (including 8 KTPS one where she was an Associate, and two HEIF Knowledge Exchange projects) which have all explored the use of implementing technologies for commercial success. Her current research agenda centres upon digital transformation and disruptive business models as enablers and value creators. Marie has significant practical experience gained working on varied digital ‘live’ research projects, (including 8 KTPS one where she was an Associate, and two HEIF Knowledge Exchange projects) which have all explored the use of implementing technologies for commercial success. Her current research agenda centres upon digital transformation and disruptive business models as enablers and value creators. Marie along with Alex Fenton and Gordon Fletcher is co-authoring a textbook ‘Strategic Digital Transformation: A results driven approach’ a guide of how to embrace the benefits of technologies. Marie current has a 4 PhD students – one is looking at how knowledge transfer foster innovation in KTPs, additionally she is Programme Leader for MSc Digital Business and Managing Innovation and Information Technology and her teaching commitments lie within this area teaching Digital Innovation, and Information Systems. Marie and Gordon Fletcher also deliver a successful CPD course on Digital Transformation and have recently been awarded Outstanding Paper in the 2017 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence ‘The social supply chain and the future high street’.
Marie has significant practical experience gained working on varied digital ‘live’ research projects, which have explored the commercial and societal implications of technological change. Her current research agenda centres upon digital business and the significances of digital innovative technologies, innovation business models as enablers and value creators. An additional body of research looks at young people and digital media, exploring their behaviour in virtual spaces, their roles as ‘prosumers’ in social networking sites. Marie’s also researches identity, privacy and surveillance technologies in these areas.
