Rachel joined the university in 2018 as a member of the mental health lecturing team following a 23 year career in mental health nursing. Rachel's background has been in adult acute mental health, community mental health nursing and latterly in her practice career Rachel has developed older people's liaison mental health services, in both hospital and community settings, winning awards specifically in the work of developing palliative care mental health services for people with advanced dementia. Rachel is a specialist practitioner in mental health, a registered mental health nurse and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
