Biography:
Upon graduating from Newcastle at Northumbria University in BA (Hons) Graphic Design and Advertising and following a period in industry, employed as an Art Director for several London agencies including Lowe Howard Spink/Horseman Cooke, D4 and The Unknown Partnership, working on accounts for Boots, Marks & Spencer, Tesco, James Capel, The Financial Times, Britvic, JPS, Virgin, Beggars Banquet, Phonogram, City Beat, Global Village and XL recordings. After completing the MA Communication Design Programme at Manchester Metropolitan University, Christopher worked as a visiting lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University before accepting a full time permanent post at The University of Salford. From 1998 – 2002 He was appointed chairman for the Chartered Society of Designers. This role allowed him to co-ordinate the ‘voicebox’ national lecture series at The University of Salford, The London Institute and Glasgow School of Art. In 2004 he wrote the BA (Hons) Advertising Design programme before accepting the role of Programme Leader in 2006. Christopher’s current research projects involve behavioural economics and its relation to location based out of home advertising. He reviews advertising texts published by Thames & Hudson and Laurence King. He is actively involved in academic enterprise and maintains regular dialogue with industry and alumni. He currently holds two external examiner posts at The University of Chester and Stockport College.
