Abstract

The aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness of teaching an elderly person to get up from the floor using a backward chaining method. A single case (A-B) design was used. The subject was a 79-year-old woman who had previously fallen and suffered a “long lie“. Treatment produced a significant improvement in her ability to get up from the floor.
