Abstract
In the face of rich market competition companies make decisions to undertake various actions in order to win or keep customers. In the paper the role of quality in the case of dairy products is presented. As an example there are shown the following quality systems: HACCP and the norm ISO 900 I :2000. In order to illustrate the situation in Poland the results of research conducted in selected dairies of Lodzkie Voivodship were presented.
