Biography:

University of Salford 2005-present Director of Civil Engineering Directorate. Reader in Engineering Education Responsible for administration of the activities of the Civil Engineering and delivery of a range of undergraduate and postgraduate taught modules in structural engineering. Recent research projects include: • improving the impact resistance of glazing materials for Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive • pedagogic interventions to improve understanding of structural behaviour • strengthening techniques for masonry arch bridges Recent CPD taught courses for industry include: • Design of glass structures • Design of steel structures using Eurocodes • Techniques for the validation of structural analysis
