Biography:
Emma Kelly is a lecturer in Social Work (Safeguarding Children) at the University of Salford, teaching on the MA program and leading the MSC in Comparative Safeguarding. Emma is a qualified social worker, with a background in child protection social work and inter-agency training for Manchester City Council. Since 2006 Emma has been interested in practitioner responses to child trafficking and held a UK wide post on child trafficking training with ECPAT UK until 2009. Emma has published a number of chapters and articles on child trafficking, most recently in Child Slavery Now (2010) published by Policy Press and has a edited book with Jessica Kinglesy Publishers on Separated Children published in December 2011.
