Dr Yingchun Ji is a Reader at the University of Salford in 2022, he was appointed as a Lecturer since 2010 before obtaining his Readership. Before that he was a research fellow at the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development, De Montfort University. He is currently teaching building services. Yingchun gained his first degree (BE) in the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 1997 and then worked for the China Household Electric Appliances Research Institute in Beijing before he came to IESD as a PhD candidate in 2001.
Yingchun has been fully sponsored by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) for his study and during the three years of his doctoral study Yingchun also competed successfully in the UK Overseas Research Students Award Scheme f

Yingchun was awarded a PhD by De Montfort University for his thesis on Computational Fluid Dynamics Modelling of Displacement Natural Ventilation in 2005 since which time he has been a Research Fellow with IESD.
